About the Group
Introduction
The “Ensino Lusófona” project brings together a group of institutions, chief among which Lusófona University, that share the goal of contributing to the scientific, cultural and economic development of the whole Portuguese-speaking space. Today these institutions gather more than 75,000 students in different Portuguese-speaking countries. In their richness and diversity, they represent the unique place the Portuguese-speaking community occupies in the world. Imbued with a clear international vocation, the “Ensino Lusófona” project increasingly stands as a reference higher education project in the different fields in which it operates.
Mission, Vision, Values
Mission
The core mission of the Ensino Lusófona project is to contribute, through its teaching and research activities, to the scientific, cultural, economic and social development of Portugal and of all the countries where Portuguese is spoken.
In order to pursue these goals, the Ensino Lusófona project undertakes training, research and service delivery activities in a broad range of fields of knowledge that are relevant to society, while constantly and actively seeking to be a valid, indispensable partner to all those which, like this project, believe that higher training as well as scientific, cultural, economic and social development coupled with knowledge are the main drivers of our society’s development and progress.
Vision
Our vision is to be a national and international reference in the education and training sector, aligned with the best practices at pedagogic and research level, grounded on the quality of teaching and in the students’ integration in the academic and professional lives.
We want to be recognized by training top-level executives with high theoretical and technical knowedge, capable of integrating the national and international market.
Values
Integrity And Cohesion
The Ensino Lusófona project places its students, faculty and support staff at the centre of all its activities, reinforcing the principles of honesty, truth, loyalty, rectitude and justice in everybody's daily behaviour, on the basis that individual and collective growth can only be achieved through the involvement of students and the empowerment of faculty and support staff as key elements of the life of a higher education institution and of the community as a whole.
Ambition
Ensino Lusófona is engaged with the promotion of education, science and culture in all the countries where Portuguese is spoken, wishes to foster equity, inclusion and diversity, and is committed to eliminating all types of barriers hindering access to higher education, hence, hindering access to knowledge and the opportunities it creates.
We believe that the performance of a higher education institution is reinforced through the inclusion of its activities in the local and regional contexts it covers.
Team Spirit
The Ensino Lusófona educational project is based on the conviction that the active participation of every single student, member of faculty and support staff in the activity of the higher education institution is the only way it can achieve the strategic goals it pursues and have a significant social impact which will effectively contribute to the scientific, cultural and economic development of the society it integrates.
Sustainability
Ensino Lusófona aims to incorporate sustainability as a core value and is fully committed to constantly implementing sustainable practices in all its fields of intervention.
Training And Development
The Ensino Lusófona project holds as one of its core values that individuals' training and development are essential for the pursuit of educational and scientific activities that will positively impact the global development of our society.
